This project challenges the idea that intelligence belongs only to the human brain.
It proposes that cognition can emerge from matter itself, through plants, ecosystems, and even entire landscapes as decentralized forms of intelligence.

Drawing from science, anthropology, and philosophy, the work explores how non-human entities perceive and respond to the world.
From plant behavior to Andean cosmologies, it suggests that thinking and sensing are not exclusively human capacities.Environmental data collected from Little Fort Island is treated as a form of ecological agency.
This data activates an AI system trained on the voices and writings of Nancy Holt and Robert Smithson, generating evolving audio as a response to the island’s conditions.
