S T E L A E

‘S T E L A E’ is made from a combination of volcanic stone, resin, and metal. It is from this materiality that a baroque composition emerges: snake-like candles, an amorphous hand resembling tentacles, and many other elements swim together in this chaotic pool of earthly and artificial lifeforms.

This is what the artist refers to as an “anti-taxonomical” approach in which it’s impossible to categorically determine the edges of each element, or to map out all the many mutations that the composition depicts.
